Basketball Recap: Oakland Takes a Loss

Oakland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-65 heartbreaker at the hands of Rockvale. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 83-59 back in January.

Malachi Long went supernova for Rockvale, going 9 of 12 en route to 20 points and five assists. Long is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Kaleb Lewis was another key player, putting up 11 points and five assists.

Oakland's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Rockvale, they pushed their record up to 10-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Siegel the next time they take the court. Oakland will head out to face Siegel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Rockvale will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
