Aydden Cherry Turns in Season-Best Performance

On Friday, West Stokes had to settle for second even though Aydden Cherry put up the best numbers he has all season. Cherry rushed for 206 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.

West Stokes moved to 6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. Cherry and West Stokes will welcome McMichael at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Dionte Neal Has Career Rushing Day

On Friday, Reidsville got the W thanks in part to Dionte Neal playing the best football he has all season. Neal rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 335 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.4% of his passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

The win for Reidsville keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Neal and Reidsville will venture away from home to square off against Walkertown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Reidsville Wins 19th-Straight Thanks to Jariel Cobb

Jariel Cobb's big game helped extend Reidsville's winning streak to 19 on Friday. Cobb was unstoppable, rushing for 178 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 37 receiving yards. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 52 yards.

West Stokes's probably not too fond of Cobb given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in November of 2023 (the last time Cobb saw the Wildcats), he rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.

Carter Came Up Big in Morehead's 24-14 Victory

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Braxton Carter stepped things up a notch to give Morehead the 'W'. Carter turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 107 yards and two touchdowns. He has become a key player for Morehead: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-5 otherwise.

Morehead's victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. Carter and Morehead will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against North Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on October 25th.

Camereon Cartlidge Turns in Another Game with at Least Seven Total Tackles

Camereon Cartlidge continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his seventh-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least seven total tackles. He picked up a sack and made 16 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

The victory (which was Walkertown's third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Cartlidge and Walkertown will challenge Reidsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
