Basketball Game Preview: May River Sharks vs. Bluffton Bobcats

May River hasn't had much luck against Bluffton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The May River Sharks are taking a road trip to square off against the Bluffton Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

May River is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Beaufort, falling 56-34. The Sharks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-8.

Meanwhile, Bluffton took a blow against Bishop England on Friday, falling 63-33. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Battling Bishops recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Bluffton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amirah Brown posted 12 points. That was a full 36.4% of Bluffton's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

May River now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Bluffton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

May River was dealt a bruising 52-24 defeat at the hands of Bluffton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point May River was down 32-9.
