Miami Beach scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They came out on top against Hialeah by a score of 47-40. The win was some much needed relief for Miami Beach as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Lourdes Academy had to settle for a 43-40 defeat against the Bears on Wednesday.
Lourdes Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Luciana Picasso, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Sophia Sandoval who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 42.5% of Lourdes Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Miami Beach's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10. As for Lourdes Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-5 record this season.
