Basketball Recap: Eau Claire Comes Up Short

Eau Claire had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the South Aiken Thoroughbreds and fell 54-22. The Shamrocks lost against the Thoroughbreds in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 37-33 score last time.

Leading South Aiken to victory were Isabella Bottom and Kaleigh Harris. Bottom shot 53% from the field on her way to 24 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals, while Harris posted 12 points along with seven steals and six boards.

Coming up, Eau Claire and Stratford will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for South Aiken, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Marlboro County at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
