Basketball Game Preview: Nease Panthers vs. St. Augustine Yellow Jackets

Having just played yesterday, the Nease Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Nease is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Menendez 59-42 on Thursday.

Nease relied on the efforts of Audrey Rollins, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 16 points and four steals, and Abigail Robinson, who posted 14 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Rollins also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January. Sydney Minx was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, St. Augustine waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They strolled past the Pirates with points to spare, taking the game 40-25. While the Yellow Jackets didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

St. Augustine's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Nease, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Nease came up short against St. Augustine when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 43-38. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
