Football Recap: Mendez Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Mendez's offense. They were dealt a 35-0 defeat at the hands of the Roybal Titans on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Jaguars in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost four in a row.

Even if they lost, Mendez's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Carmello Colon was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Joseph Lara was his usual excellent self, rushing for 90 yards and one score on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 150 yards and one touchdown for Roybal. Those 90 rushing yards gave Lara a new career-high. Carlos Jarquin was another key player, rushing for 102 yards and one TD on only 12 carries.

Mendez's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Roybal, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Mendez didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-20 win against Reseda on the 10th. As for Roybal, they have also already played their next game, a 48-0 victory against Belmont on the 10th.
