Basketball Recap: ANGEL BACA Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat El Paso Homeschool

Job Corps proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 25) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the El Paso HomeSchool Panthers 51-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since February 16th.

Job Corps got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was ANGEL BACA out in front who posted three points and five steals. ADRIAN RIVERA was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

El Paso HomeSchool's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clay Cranson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. The game was Cranson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Nuebauer, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Job Corps pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for El Paso HomeSchool, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Job Corps will square off against Rose of Sharon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for El Paso HomeSchool, they will challenge IDEA Rio Vista College Preparatory at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
