Volleyball Recap: The Covenant Extends Winning Streak to Eight

The Covenant won the last time they faced North Cross and Kalley Mcnish did her part to make sure it happened again. The Eagles walked away with a 3-1 win over the Raiders on Thursday with plenty of help from Mcnish, who had 15 digs and four assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The Covenant had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 26-24, 28-26, 25-13.

The victory was the eighth in a row for The Covenant, bringing their record up to 13-1. As for North Cross, with the defeat, they broke their eight-match winning streak and moved their record to 12-3.

The Covenant and North Cross should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Eagles (ranked sixth) will meet Virginia Episcopal School (ranked 259th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, North Cross will face off against St. Anne's-Belfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (33 vs. 284).
