Softball Recap: Borrego Springs Takes a Loss

Borrego Springs was the 16-15 winner over Vincent Memorial when they last played one another on Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Rams fell just short of the Scots by a score of 16-14 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Vanessa (Dulce) Morales made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Lylamae Gutierrez, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Borrego Springs has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Vincent Memorial, their record is now 4-5.

Coincidentally, Borrego Springs and Vincent Memorial will both be playing Julian the next time they take the field. The Scots will host the Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Rams will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
