Suggested Video

The East River Falcons will venture away from home to challenge the Olympia Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Olympia took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on East River, who comes in off a win.

East River barely beat University the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons blew past the Cougars 11-2 on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Ty Kennedy was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Jayden Vazquez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

East River was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as University only posted a batting average of .160.

Meanwhile, Olympia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Howell. The shutout was out of character for the Titans seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Olympia also got a good showing from Brendan Furey, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furey has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Olympia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samuel Grande, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

The win made it two in a row for East River and bumps their season record up to 14-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Olympia, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.

East River came up short against Olympia in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, falling 5-0. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
