Volleyball Recap: Hoosic Valley Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Hoosic Valley was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Berlin/New Lebanon on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks fell just short of the Mechanicville Red Raiders by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. While the Hawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Red Raiders 25-21 in the first set.

Hoosic Valley took Mechanicville into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-12, 25-20, 18-25, 15-13.

Hoosic Valley's offense was headlined by Joni Chapko and Ella Waldron, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Lainey Bochette and her 26 assists. Chapko was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Hoosic Valley's loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5-2. As for Mechanicville, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Hoosic Valley has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Tamarac on the 3rd. As for Mechanicville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Cambridge on the 3rd.
