Volleyball Recap: Kellis Comes Up Short

Kellis had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 7-11 to make it four. They lost 3-0 to the Ironwood Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

As for Ironwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 7th (when they won 3-0).

Ironwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madalyn Hutchison, who had 11 assists and five digs. That's the most digs Hutchison has posted over her last ten contests. Ayla Working also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Kellis has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Sunrise Mountain on the 20th. As for Ironwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Centennial on the 20th.
