Softball Recap: Harper Creek Takes a Loss

After flying high against St. Joseph on Tuesday, Harper Creek came back down to earth. The Beavers fell just short of the Bears by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The contest marked the Beavers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Harper Creek saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Kirkpatrick, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Harper Creek has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. St. Joseph's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Harper Creek will welcome Waverly at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Joseph, they will take on Portage Northern at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
