1A/2A Cascade recap Nov. 7, 2012
Archbishop Murphy moved up to 49 from 75 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A/2A Cascade. The Wildcats were able to make move up by topping Squalicum 44-16.
King's extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Cascade Christian, 28-7. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Knights.
Lakewood's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Justin Peterson threw for 141 and one touchdown and Donovan Evans had 84 yards receiving. On the ground Evans chipped in 168 yards. Brandon Stott helped Lakewood's passing attack out by catching three balls for 41 yards.
King's' Billy Green and Caleb Taylor have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Green has thrown for 2441 yards this season, while Taylor, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 52 catches for 1033 yards. Evans from the Cougars leads the league in rushing with 1335 yards.
Granite Falls took down Bellingham 54-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
