Basketball Recap: Newbury Park Adventist Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Newbury Park Adventist picked up another tournament win on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Woodcrest Christian Royals by a score of 40-33. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gators.

Despite the defeat, Woodcrest Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Madden Anderson posted 13 points. The dominant performance also gave Anderson a new career-high in steals (two). Noah Milton was another key player, putting up four points and six steals.

Newbury Park Adventist's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Woodcrest Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newbury Park Adventist will host Redlands Adventist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Woodcrest Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Aquinas at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th.
