Basketball Recap: John Bartram Takes a Loss

John Bartram lost against Overbrook back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The John Bartram Braves took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Overbrook Panthers. The contest marked the Braves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Overbrook got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jalen Holmes out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 boards. Holmes is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games he's played. Omar Warring was another key player, going 5 for 6 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven boards and seven blocks.

John Bartram's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Overbrook, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.

John Bartram and Penncrest will round out the year against one another at at 1:45 p.m. on Monday. Penncrest will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something John Bartram surely won't give up without a fight. As for Overbrook, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-50 win against Bartram Communications on the 27th.
