Basketball Recap: Galena Comes Up Short

Galena was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carson Senators. The Grizzlies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Senators apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Galena still got an impressive performance from Zakery Smrt, who went 6 of 13 en route to 13 points. Another player making a difference was Stone Rasmussen, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Galena's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Carson, they moved to 6-10 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Galena will square off against Reed at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Reed is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season. As for Carson, they will face off against Bishop Manogue at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
