Basketball Recap: Von Isenbart Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Eads

Stratton won the last time they faced Eads and things went their way on Friday too. The Stratton Eagles came out on top against the Eads Eagles by a score of 61-49.

Stratton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Von Isenbart, who went 6 of 15 en route to 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. What's more, Isenbart also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Ricky Schillig was another key player, going 8 for 11 on his way to 18 points and six boards.

Stratton was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Eads had strong showings from Adyn Hough, who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and five rebounds, and Case Nelson, who posted 14 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Nelson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

Stratton's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Eads, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Stratton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against McClave at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. McClave will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Stratton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eads, they and Idalia will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
