Baseball Game Preview: Hamilton Big Blue vs. Sycamore Aviators

For the second straight game, Hamilton will face off against Sycamore. The Big Blue will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Aviators at 5:00 p.m. Hamilton has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 13.

On Monday, Hamilton didn't have quite enough to beat Sycamore and fell 9-8.

For Sycamore's part, Corwin Wang looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Sycamore let Jack Reuszer and Zach Branam run wild. Reuszer went 2-for-3 with one home run, while Branam went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Branam has become a key player for Sycamore: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 7-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Carson Namaky, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Sycamore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hamilton only posted a batting average of .267.

Sycamore has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
