Baseball Game Preview: Jackson Ironman/Ironladies vs. Circleville Tigers

The Jackson Ironman/Ironladies will square off against the Circleville Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Jackson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over Chillicothe. The win was familiar territory for the Ironman/Ironladies, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Jackson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Ernst, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Bodhi Wolford also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Circleville won against Logan on Thursday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Athens. The Tigers have beaten the Bulldogs the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Circleville pushed their record up to 20-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Jackson, their victory bumped their record up to 22-1.

Jackson might still be hurting after the 9-2 defeat they got from Circleville in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Ironman/Ironladies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
