Volleyball Recap: Calvin Christian Beats San Diego Jewish Academy for Their Fourth Straight Win

Calvin Christian entered their tilt with San Diego Jewish Academy on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Lions 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

While Calvin Christian won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 27-25.

Calvin Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaidance Katje led the charge by getting 14 digs and four aces. Katje has been hot for a while, having posted two or more aces the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lucy Gordon, who had nine kills and six digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Calvin Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in eight consecutive contests.

Calvin Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for San Diego Jewish Academy, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
