Basketball Recap: Phillip Ned's Big Game Can't Quite Lead La Porte over West Brook

            Basketball Recap: La Porte Bulldogs vs. West Brook Bruins        
        
		
        
        
            If La Porte was feeling good  fresh off their  82-51 takedown of Santa Fe last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The La Porte Bulldogs came up short against  the West Brook Bruins on Friday, falling  77-56. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Bruins recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Phillip Ned, who  posted 15 points and three  steals. Ned is  on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed three or more in the last seven games he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Caden Watson, who  had 16 points and three  steals.

 Even though they lost, La Porte  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 18  offensive rebounds. That's the most  offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.
  Elijah Garrett continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Brook,  going 9 of 15  on his way to 26  points along with six  boards and three  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Terry Satcher, who  went 5 of 7  on his way to 11  points in addition to five  assists and four  steals.
La Porte's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for West Brook, the  win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.
 La Porte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  contest,  a  58-53  loss against Cy-Fair on the 27th. As for West Brook, they also  didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  70-61  victory against Fort Bend Hightower on the 27th.
