Volleyball Recap: West Comes Up Short

West entered their game against Brighton on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. West fell 3-1 to Brighton. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

While West ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-17, 25-27, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Micheal Fuiava and Luke Satini, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Sebastian Bejarano and his 19 assists. He also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Moli Togia, racking up three apiece.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 8-5. As for Brighton, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, West will venture away from home to take on Alta at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alta will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something West surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brighton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Pleasant Grove on the 21st.
