Softball Recap: Crescenta Valley Has No Trouble Against Temple City

Crescenta Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Temple City, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 25-3 margin over the Rams on Friday. That 22 run margin sets a new team best for the Falcons this season.

Addison Wong made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Wong was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Mulcahey, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, nine RBI, and four runs. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alexa Johnson, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two triples, and one RBI.

Crescenta Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Temple City struck out 12 times.

Crescenta Valley has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Temple City, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-8.

Crescenta Valley has already played their next matchup, an 8-1 victory against Mark Keppel on the 14th. As for Temple City, they will challenge South Pasadena at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
