Baseball Game Preview: Leslie County Eagles vs. Clay County Tigers

Leslie County is 0-7 against Clay County since March of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Leslie County took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bell County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bobcats 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted against the Bobcats since April 30, 2022.

The team relied heavily on Caden Caldwell, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Peyton Fouts was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Clay County never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Barbourville 16-0. Considering Clay County has won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
