Baseball Recap: Abbeville Takes a Loss

Abbeville entered their match against Ninety Six on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Panthers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 16-1. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Wildcats since on Thursday.

Abbeville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Townsend, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Abbeville's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 14-4. As for Ninety Six, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Abbeville will host McCormick at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Ninety Six, they will square off against Strom Thurmond at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
