Recap: Paintsville Tigers vs. Floyd Central Jaguars
The Paintsville Tigers posted their biggest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They blew past Floyd Central, posting a 71-39 win on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Paintsville.
Despite the loss, Floyd Central still got an impressive performance from Riley Compton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 35.9% of Floyd Central's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Laferty, who scored seven points.
Paintsville now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Floyd Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paintsville will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Magoffin County at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Magoffin County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Paintsville is ranked 98th). As for Floyd Central, they will head out on the road to take on Lawrence County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
