Canyon Crest Academy and Grossmont squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Canyon Crest Academy had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Foothillers. The Ravens' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Canyon Crest Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-23.

Leading Grossmont to victory were Jacqueline Villalobos and Kayla Kenis. Villalobos had six aces and four digs, while Kenis had six digs and two aces. What's more, Kenis posted two assists, the most she's had since back in November of 2024.

Canyon Crest Academy's loss dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Grossmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 23-10 record this season.

Canyon Crest Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grossmont, they will take on El Camino at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
