Football Game Preview: Sanderson Spartans vs. Cape Fear Colts

Two dominant backs in Ben Young III and Tai Phillips are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Sanderson Spartans will challenge the Cape Fear Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sanderson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Wake 41-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Warriors are ranked 262nd).

Meanwhile, Cape Fear had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points) and they went ahead and made it seven two weeks ago. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-7 W against the Fighting Scots.

Sanderson's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Cape Fear, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
