Softball Recap: Elcho Comes Up Short

Elcho and Athens squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Elcho had to settle for second. They lost 15-0 to the Bluejays. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Hornets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Elcho has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Athens, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-10.

Elcho does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Athens, they will square off against Wausaukee on Thursday. The Bluejays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rangers have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
