Volleyball Recap: Hays Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Hays waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Phillipsburg Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 two weeks ago.

While Hays won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22.

Brooke Bieker paced Hays' offense, picking up nine kills. Bieker also shared the team's lead in assists with Sylvia Johnson: they picked up 11 each. Zoe Winter controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Hays' win bumped their record up to 20-9. As for Phillipsburg, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-15.

Coming up, Hays will challenge Junction City at 4:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Phillipsburg, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Trego on the 9th.
