Softball Recap: Edison Wins Going Away Against Franklin

Edison won against McNair last Thursday with 20 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Franklin Yellowjackets with a sharp 20-2 win. The game marked the Vikings' most dominant victory of the season.

Haylie -Nichole Berdot was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Berdot was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Leila Tatupu was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 5-for-5. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Angeleya Miranda, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Edison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Edison and bumps their season record up to 6-12. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 3-8 Franklin and 5-7 McNair. As for Franklin, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Edison wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 19-7 victory against McNair on the 17th. As for Franklin, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-0 defeat against Tokay on the 17th.
