Softball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short

Liberty couldn't beat James Monroe on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Raiders fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 9-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 back in March.

Stella Brown made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Allie Bowles, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Liberty's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 12-8. As for James Monroe, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will face off against WestSide at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders are facing the Renegades at the right time seeing as the Renegades are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for James Monroe, they will challenge Graham at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
