Basketball Recap: Dibble Takes a Loss

Dibble lost against Stratford back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Dibble Demons took a 56-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stratford Bulldogs.

Stratford found their leader in sophomore Oliver Smithwick, who shot 4-for-7 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. Smithwick's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Daxton Ross, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 15 points and five boards.

Dibble has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Stratford, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.

Dibble has already played their next contest (against Velma-Alma), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Stratford has already played their next matchup, a 64-54 victory against Wayne on the 17th.
