Baseball Game Preview: Hinton Comets vs. Fletcher Wildcats

The Hinton Comets will head out to challenge the Fletcher Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hinton has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hinton is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Southwest Covenant just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 11-1 to the Patriots.

Meanwhile, Fletcher waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 11-6.

Rayce Stoll was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Morgan Harrington was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Fletcher's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Hinton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Hinton couldn't quite finish off Fletcher in their previous matchup back in April of 2017 and fell 3-1. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
