Basketball Recap: Southern Comes Up Short

Southern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Providence Pioneers and fell 55-22. The matchup marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Southern's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Providence, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Southern will take on Eastern at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66 points per game this season. As for Providence, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Switzerland County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Switzerland County also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 60.1 points per game.
