Volleyball Recap: Mesquite Takes a Loss

Mesquite lost against Duncanville back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Skeeters came up short against the Panthers and Pantherettes, falling 3-0. The Skeeters have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mesquite took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-10, 25-12.

Among those leading the charge was Jaleeya Brown, who had 16 assists. She has been hot, having posted 14 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Mesquite's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Duncanville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 24-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mesquite will take on rival Cedar Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Duncanville is set to challenge their familiar foe DeSoto at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
