Basketball Game Preview: Orland Trojans vs. University Prep Panthers

The Orland Trojans will challenge the University Prep Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Orland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59 points per game this season.

Orland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 50-49 photo finish over Yreka. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Miners recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Orland had a senior duo take command as Preston Carlson posted 13 points and four steals and Dominick Bose had four points along with 17 rebounds and five assists. With that strong performance, Bose is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Graysen Ovitz, who put up six points.

Meanwhile, University Prep didn't have too much trouble with Winters on Friday as they won 63-44. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Warriors are ranked 890th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

University Prep's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.1 points. As for Orland, their win bumped their record up to 21-9.

Everything came up roses for Orland against University Prep in their previous meeting back in February of 2015, as the team secured a 69-27 victory. In that match, Orland amassed a halftime lead of 39-17, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
