Basketball Recap: Belton Takes a Loss

Belton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 58-28 defeat at the hands of the Platte County Pirates. While losing is never fun, Belton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 399th, while Platte County is ranked 98th).

Belton's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Platte County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belton will venture away from home to square off against Chrisman at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Platte County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Raytown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Platte County is facing Raytown at the right time seeing as Raytown is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
