Volleyball Recap: Del Oro Comes Up Short

After flying high against Pleasant Grove last Tuesday, Del Oro came back down to earth. The Del Oro Golden Eagles fell just short of the Laguna Creek Cardinals by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Del Oro took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-20, 17-25, 25-19, 26-11.

Del Oro's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Laguna Creek, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Del Oro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against College Park on the 1st. As for Laguna Creek, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Laguna Creek Cardinals challenge Franklin Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be their first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
