Basketball Recap: Sania Richardson Key Part of a Team Effort in Cougars Win

Ada won the last time they faced Hugo and things went their way on Saturday too. The Ada Cougars enjoyed a cozy 62-48 victory over the Hugo Buffaloes. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Ada got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sania Richardson out in front who posted 25 points. The game was Richardson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Kennadee Bickerstaff was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Ada smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Ada's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Hugo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Ada Cougars face off against the Harrah Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harrah will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Ada surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hugo, they are taking a road trip to challenge Silo at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
