Baseball Recap: Wilson's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Wilson brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They never let the Hughes Lions get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Jack Darby and Cayden McCormack did most of the damage at the plate: Darby scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while McCormack scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. McCormack also brought in three RBI, which is notable because Wilson is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 6-17 otherwise. Brodie Pruitt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Wilson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Wilson's win bumped their record up to 9-17. As for Hughes, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Wilson will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Clements at 4:30 p.m. As for Hughes, they will venture away from home to square off against Clarksburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions are facing the Rockets at the right time seeing as the Rockets are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
