Softball Game Preview: Pflugerville Panthers vs. East View Patriots

The Pflugerville Panthers will take on the East View Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pflugerville will be strutting in after a victory while East View will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Pflugerville turned things around against Pflugerville Connally on Tuesday. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 12-0 win.

Lauryn Jackson made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Pflugerville got a massive performance out of Naleah Mackey, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three runs. That home run was Mackey's first of the season. Kylie Jaccard was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, East View lost 16-9 to Georgetown on Tuesday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

East View's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Pflugerville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13-1.
