Basketball Recap: Paden City Comes Up Short

Paden City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 54-20 loss at the hands of Parkersburg Christian. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-7.

When it comes to explaining why Paden City lost, don't look at Ashton Wade. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points. That was a full 60% of Paden City's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Parkersburg Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shianne Posey, who went 8 of 17 en route to 22 points and three steals. Those 22 points gave Posey a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kenzi Lucas, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 13 points and seven steals.

Paden City's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Parkersburg Christian, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.

Paden City has already played their next contest, a 42-22 loss against Wood County Christian on the 31st. As for Parkersburg Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-40 defeat against Morgantown Christian Academy on the 31st.
