Basketball Game Preview: Knightdale Knights vs. Apex Cougars

The Knightdale Knights will face off against the Apex Cougars at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Knightdale's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Apex has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Knightdale saw some tournament action on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-40 win over Wilson Prep.

Ayomide Adewumi continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Kiyah Moore, who posted eight points and nine rebounds.

Knightdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Apex came up short against Southern Alamance on Monday and fell 32-23.

Apex's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Knightdale, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
