Softball Recap: Pebble Hills Comes Up Short

Pebble Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 16-5 to the Eastlake Falcons. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Riley Cassiday made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciana Quinones, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Pebble Hills' loss dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Eastlake, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Pebble Hills will challenge Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pebble Hills' pitchers better be ready for this one: Franklin has averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Eastlake, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Eastlake Falcons duke it out with Coronado Thunderbirds at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coronado has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.19 runs per game on average), something Eastlake will no doubt try to take advantage of.
