Softball Recap: Pearl River Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against Pascagoula on Wednesday, Pearl River Central came back down to earth. The Blue Devils fell 11-6 to the Harrison Central Red Rebels on Saturday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 23, 2021, but that streak is no more.

Pearl River Central's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8-1. As for Harrison Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pearl River Central will challenge Hancock at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Harrison Central, they will face off against Ocean Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Greyhounds' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Red Rebels' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
