Baseball Game Preview: RHAM Raptors vs. East Catholic Eagles

The RHAM Raptors will take on the East Catholic Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

East Catholic will take on a team with plenty of momentum: RHAM extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Raptors narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Tolland 5-3.

Three must be East Catholic's lucky number: they beat E.O. Smith/Tolland with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Eagles beat the Bucks by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

RHAM pushed their record up to 9-2-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for East Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

RHAM beat East Catholic 4-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Raptors repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
