Rangely had won two straight games and Porter Yates did his part to make it three on Friday. The Panthers came out on top against the Cotopaxi Pirates by a score of 57-44 thanks in part to Yates, who shot 86% from beyond the arc en route to 22 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Rangely is 3-1 when Yates posts three or more steals, but 5-12 otherwise.

Despite the defeat, Cotopaxi saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kenny Teter dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 38.6% of the Pirates' points, marking the third time in a row Teter has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Gillespie, who put up nine points and five boards.

Rangely's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Cotopaxi, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.

Rangely wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-55 defeat against Flagler on the 28th. As for Cotopaxi, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-37 loss against Evangel Christian Academy on the 28th.
